Adtel Inc responded to the needs of the people who have no access to safe drinking water last October 14 and November 9, 2011 in Masantol, Pampanga. Masantol is one of the municipalities that were heavily affected by typhoons Pedring and Quiel. Weeks has passed after the typhoons hit the country, there are still houses submerged in floodwaters and people in need of drinking water.
In line with Adtel’s corporate social responsibility and through the help of Lopez Group Foundation Inc., Adtel was able to respond to the needs of Brgys Sagrada Familia, Nigui and Bagang through the use of the Adtel Aquasol. The system uses ultrafiltration and is able to supply 10,000 liters of clean drinking water per day coming from sources such as deep well, rainwater, river, spring.
As soon as the team arrived, people immediately started falling in line carrying their water containers. Adtel was able to serve a total of 265 families all in all.
Typhoon “SENDONG” hit Cagayan de Oro early morning of December 17th and left the city in catastrophe. Thousands of people died and others still nowhere to be found. Families were left homeless and millions of properties were damaged by the devastating storm. The deadly flash flooding triggered by the storm left many barangays into ruins. The water and electric supply were cut down. The aftermath of the storm had left the victims in hunger and in dire need of potable water.
Adtel, in cooperation with Department of Interior and Local Government, Bureau of Fire Protection and its local partner Sethmed Marketing responded to the need of the storm victims by providing them potable water through the use of the Aquasol water filtration system. The five-day relief operation satisfied the thirst for potable water of more than a thousand families in the 11 barangays and one evacuation center in Cagayan de Oro city.
