Since the approval of Republic Act 9513 otherwise known as the “Renewable Energy Act or The ACT” that promotes development, utilization and commercialization of renewable energy resources, ADTEL has ventured into the Solar Power Technology business to complement existing government efforts in improving the socio-economic conditions of the marginized sector in the unenergized and off-grid areas. It uses photovoltaic (PV) energy systems as the project’s enabling technology to promote development in the rural areas.
This project will complement Pres. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo’s 10-point agenda
on 100% electrification of all barangays/villages, homes and access to basic
services. It is a multi-agency undertaking with the Local Government Units
(LGUs), Electric Cooperatives and Micro-Financing Institutions (MFIs) as agencies
working together and co-responsible for the identification and confirmation
of targeted sites for project coverage.
